Brian is the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Mondelēz International, Inc. Mondelēz is a global leader in snacking, with over $38 billion in net sales and approximately 91,000 employees operating in over 80 countries, with a portfolio of iconic brands including Oreo, Ritz, Lu, Clif Bar, Tate’s Bake Shop, Chips Ahoy!, Triscuit, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Toblerone, Milka, and Sour Patch Kids.
Previously, Brian was the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of Baxter International Inc., a global provider of medical products and digital health solutions. Prior to Baxter, he was the Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer of Groupon Inc., a global e-commerce company that operates online local commerce marketplaces. Prior to Groupon, Brian was an audit partner in the New York financial services practice of KPMG LLP.
Earlier in his career, Brian spent five years in KPMG’s national office, where he supported audit teams and clients on complex accounting topics including revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity financing transactions, fair value measurements, financial instruments, impairments, compensation, income taxes, and SEC reporting matters. He authored or co-authored numerous KPMG publications on financial reporting topics and spoke at firm, client, and industry events nationwide.
Brian was also a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), where he served as project manager on various technical application and implementation projects, including numerous Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) issues.
Brian currently serves as Chair of the Financial Reporting Committee of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), he is a member of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Roundtable of Financial Executives International (FEI), and he has previously served on the Financial Reporting Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Brian is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed certified public accountant in New York and Illinois.
