Cory Hrncirik is a Senior Director in Microsoft’s Office of the CFO, where he leads Frontier Finance, a strategic effort focused on enabling modern, AI‑powered finance practices across the organization. In this role, Cory works alongside talented finance, engineering, and operations teams to identify, pilot, and scale digital innovations that help improve efficiency, insight, and decision‑making across Microsoft Finance.
Over the past several years, Cory has helped shape the conditions for transformation by championing experimentation with analytics, automation, and AI, and by fostering strong cross‑functional partnerships. Together with teams across finance and product, Frontier Finance has supported process improvements that have delivered meaningful time savings, more scalable operations, and new ways of working—while maintaining a strong focus on financial rigor and governance.
Cory also plays an active role in sharing Microsoft’s finance transformation journey with peers and customers. He regularly participates in executive briefings, customer conversations, and industry forums, offering practical perspectives on how large finance organizations can adopt new technologies responsibly and at scale.
Since joining Microsoft in 2008, Cory has held finance roles across global sales, advertising and online services organizations, before moving into the Office of the CFO. Earlier in his career, he led the research and marketing division for CB Richard Ellis in Central and Eastern Europe. Cory holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, and is based in Redmond, Washington.
